The client had recently purchased this attractive new build home but after 12 months of living in the house and the addition of a new child, there was a need for the living space to be extended. The brief was to create the ever popular single storey rear extension to create a superb open plan kitchen, dining, living space to the rear of their home overlooking the garden. This created substantial space for the children to enjoy and also entertaining guests on a regular basis. Naturally, budget is always a factor so the client wanted to ensure the internal spaces are not dark due to the extension. We designed a lean-to extension with vaulted ceilings, skylights and large bifolding doors to maximise light penetration into the open plan accommodation. The project has now been completed on site and we are looking forward to visit soon to see the finished build.
